Unfortunately there is no silver bullet that will allow you to wake up in the morning with full confidence in yourself. But there are many little things you can do on a daily basis to gain a little more self-confidence and be more assertive. The Espace mom® team has selected a few tips for you.

1. Use positive affirmations and images

As the brain registers our (often limiting) beliefs and seeks to express them through the situations we encounter, you should work on positive thoughts and images. Use affirmations designed to boost your self-confidence, and repeat them like mantras to imprint on your brain: “I have everything I need to succeed”, “I am perfect in my imperfections”, “I have the right to be happy”, etc. Then do the same with positive images: visualise yourself glowing and confident in a specific situation. Or create a board on which you hang positive quotes that make you feel good as well as congratulations or thank-you notes you’ve received. Little encouragements can also be scattered here and there (on the bathroom mirror, in your wallet, etc.) to fill your day with positive energy. These will be most comforting when you start doubting yourself.

2. Hold back your inner critic

You know that little inner voice that tends to judge or blame you? When you want to build your self-confidence, you need to learn how to silence that voice. If you make a mistake, try to concentrate on the positive and the lessons you can learn from it. This way, you will grow from what won’t be remembered as a failure, but simply as a valuable life experience.

3. Set achievable goals

Instead of aiming for one big goal, break it down into smaller challenges. Firstly, because they will seem easier to achieve, putting you under less pressure. Secondly, because this method allows you to congratulate yourself after every small success. It’s a great way to boost your self-esteem and tackle the next stages of your project with confidence!

4. Work with a coach

Coaching can also be a good way to achieve your goals with confidence. Far from doing all the heavy lifting for you, a professional or life coach can support you throughout your projects, step by step, by setting a clear goal with every new session. The benefit of this approach is that you can share your fears and doubts with them, which can be a liberating way to lift a burden off your shoulders. You can also look for a mom® energy treatment with our mom® partners in your area to accompany you in your personal development and on the path to well-being.
5. You are radiant and confident!

Before an important meeting, a job interview or any situation where you really need to feel confident, take a few moments to not only imagine yourself glowing and vibrating with confidence, but also feel it in your whole being. In other words, be the person you want to be! Close your eyes, take a deep breath and tell yourself, without leaving any room for doubt (or your inner critic), that you are that person and no one else.

6. Talk to yourself in a mirror

Standing in front of the mirror is a very useful way to work on your self-confidence. Look at your reflection and say positive things to yourself (compliments, thanks, tender gestures). Also take the opportunity to adjust your posture and adopt the body language of a resolutely confident person: head and chin up, straight back, shoulders pulled back… A winning posture!
